Setting: Dad is walking Max and Emma to school. No discussions had occurred to this point.
Emma: "Hey Dad, it's a pattern! Max and Emma go to school. Max goes to school. Max and Emma go to school. Max goes to school. Max and Emma go to school. Stop. Church!"

Planning
Setting: It's late Saturday morning, and Dad's already gone out for his bike ride. Agenda-boy, Max, is starting the weekend inquiries.
Max: "Mom, what are we going to do today?"
Mom (folding laundry): "Not sure, yet, Max."
Max: "We don't have a plan?"
Mom: "No."
Max: "Well, we need to improvise!"
Mom (surprised, just looks at Max....)
Max: "You know, Mom, improvise. It's when you don't have what you need and you make it up as you go."

5
Setting: Emma and dad went to school to pick up Max. Emma watched kids walking through the halls holding numbers for the buses outside to gather the kids from the different classrooms. So when we returned home, she needed to make her own signs.
Emma: "I need to make a 5. Which way do you make the lump?"
Emma: "I need to make a 5. Which way do you make the lump?"
