Not to be interrupted

Setting: Max is at preschool (St. Davids). Teacher Mary comes up and hears him sing a neat song (on key of course).
Mary: "Max are you singing a song?"
Max continues to sing. After he completes the song:
Max: "Yes Mary I was singing a song."
