Setting: Max woke up but wasn't quite ready to face the day this morning. He sat down on the top step and called for Mom. Shortly after that Emma came out of her bedroom and the following ensued.
Max: "Mom! Emma doesn't like me!!"
Mom: "Oh Max, I think Emma likes you. Emma do you like Max?"
Emma: Nods her head yes.
Mom: "See Max, Emma likes you."
Max: "But I don't want Emma to like me!!!"
Setting: Mom looks up at Emma at that moment. Emma is swinging Bear (her lamb blanket) back and forth.
Emma: "Look Bear is swimming!!"
Note: We don't try to interpret all of these, we just try to share.
